Emergency Medical Responder
Courses on Emergency Medical Responder provide the skills necessary in an emergency to help sustain life, reduce pain, and minimize the consequences of injury or sudden illness until the next level of health care takes over. Designed to meet the National Occupational Competency Profiles for the practitioner level of emergency medical responder (EMR) established by the Paramedic Association of Canada (PAC).
RescueCPR training is consistent with standards established by the Canadian Red Cross. Includes the latest CPR guidelines approved by the WSIB.

Duration: 80 – 120 hours
Pre-Requisites: CPR Level C
- Preparing to responder
- Establishing the priorities of care (including anatomy and physiology)
- Traumatic injuries (soft tissue, musculoskeletal, head, spine, chest, abdominal and pelvic)
- Medical emergencies
- How to care for special populations, and situations
